I am trying to figure out why the common maternity style is to make pregnant women look like a tent. In searching for clothes to fit my ever expanding belly, I continue to be shocked at the lack of fitted clothing. So many of the clothes hide pregnant ladies beautiful shape under a curtain of material.
It is funny really, or ironic, that I used to walk by the maternity store/section and think all the clothes were so cute. Well, they still are... on the mannequin. On me, well, I look like a tent with breasts.

Last month, I ordered a necklace from one of my friends, Karen Terry with JMJ Creations. It is even more beautiful than the picture and I have already received a ton of compliments. I think the unique style and mixture of pieces (beads, chain and soft ribbon) is what really attracts people. When I bought the necklace I wasn't sure what I was going to wear it with but when it arrived and I started looking in my closet, I found the perfect shirt!

Karen has many other great creations! Here are a few other great pieces:

Make sure you check all of Karen's items out at www.jmjcreations.etsy.com
Karen and I are both members of Sassy Sisters in Sales and Unique Women in Business. Both groups are made up of phenomenal women working together to make each of their businesses more successful.

I was turned on to this very cool website by a friend on mine. They feature 1 designer maternity item each day at at least 50% off.
No indecisiveness allowed - each item is only available for one day and there is a limited quantity - when it is gone, it is gone.
Check them out! As the website says, "watching your bump grow doesn’t mean you need to give up your inner fashionista".

I love shopping. For Everything. Even Groceries. Except pants. And even worse than pants... Capri pants.
I was blessed (yeah, "blessed") with what I affectionately call a "ghetto booty". Some call it a "bubble butt", others call it a "badonkadonk" or "Apple bottom" or many worse things and really, all descriptions fit.
Although I am happy that this "asset" finally seems to be popular (there are even catchy songs.. "Apple Bottom Jeans... with the fur") and I am possibly even bootylicious, I would be eternally grateful to all fashion designers and clothing manufacturers if they would actually make pants to fit by badonkadonk. My waist and my butt are no where near the same size and although safety pins work when you are 5, they don't look very good when you are an adult. Although sadly, I do use them on more than one pair of pants.
And all the problems I have with normal pants are tripled with capri pants. I am not sure if it is the shape of the pant leg or my short legs but they don't seem to work well with me. It takes me months and many trials to find a pair that even looks decent.
I started the plight yesterday. I came home with 2 pairs from Old Navy that I was neither thrilled with or certain of. I am already planning on taking them back - unless I get great approval from my husband. Which is doubtful - he is just as picky as I am.
Sometimes, especially around April when I am shopping for capri pants, I envy the FLDS woman. They all wear those same plain dresses that neither look good or bad. Their apple bottoms and ghetto booties don't get in the way of the pleats and they cinch up or loosen the belts to fit their waist. Or maybe I should move to a nudist colony. Then I am not even allowed to wear capri pants and I wouldn't be married off at the ripe age of 14.
Well, until the time comes when I decide to make one of those life altering decisions, I would be grateful to anybody who has some good suggestions for capri pants that look good on bubble butts.

I am a "girlie girl". I love diamonds, high heel shoes and flowers. I can not do anything with out lipgloss on. I love makeup, coffee and music. Most people think that I have WAY to many purses... I think that I am barely meeting the minimum necessity and really could use a few more. My favorite color is pink.
I am also a "green girl". I love nature and I try to recycle. I am careful about what I put in and on my body. I try to make sure my home is clean and free of chemicals. I use reusable grocery bags. I have a long way to go but I continue to learn and make adjustments.
In more simple terms, I am greenish-pink. :)
My hope is that this website can mix together life, style and a green sense of living. Some stuff will be geared one direction more than another. But isn't that what life is about? Finding the balance that works for each of us so we can enjoy life to the fullest.
